Global citizen kelowna Week
Global Citizen Kelowna Week is an annual initiative celebrating the role of Kelowna’s citizens in international humanitarian efforts.
Through a series of activities organized by local non-profit and humanitarian groups Global Citizen Kelowna Week 2012 will feature events to Entertain, Educate, and Inspire Change.
The events organized by Global Citizen Kelowna appeal to a broad demographic of individuals of all age groups, interests, backgrounds and abilities. Global Citizen Kelowna is recognized by the United Nations ECOSOC high-level summit, and is referred to as the ‘Kelowna connection’ to the UN due to its efforts towards meeting the Millennium Development Goals.

Entertain
To communicate the role that we share as Global Citizens through the arts: music, photography, film and artisans.

Educate
To bring awareness to the 8 United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by highlighting specific goals and what local people/groups are doing to reach those goals.

Inspire Change
To make a concerted effort to respond based on what we have seen and learned. From inaction to individual and collective action. From disillusionment to hope.
